Drs. Judith and Lia Andrews, DAOM, L.Ac., received their Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in a lineage-based, Daoist school in Los Angeles called Yo San University. Their schooling was 4 1/2 years long. Chinese herbology study was emphasized as much as acupuncture. Qigong and Tai Chi classes were required every semester. The majority of their teachers were accomplished TCM practitioners in China and taught a more heavy-handed needling style with a simple yet profound philosophy of the medicine. Though their style of needling has been modified for our American culture and our ever-changing world, they maintain a great deal of love and respect for the long lineage of teachers they’ve had.

They are both certified by the California Acupuncture Board and the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Judith and Lia studied Traditional Chinese Medical dermatology under Dr. Yue-ying Li. They have received advanced training in cosmetic acupuncture from Mary Elizabeth Wakefield, L.Ac., MS, and learned the Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture System™ from Dr. Martha Lucas, Ph.D., L.Ac. and Denise Ellinger, L.Ac. They are trained in Mien Shiang Facial Diagnosis from the Mien Shiang Institute, Los Angeles, CA. Judith and Lia studied with Mantak Chia and have practiced qigong since 2000.

Judith and Lia have their Doctorates in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego. They participated in a pilot study on Prostate Cancer Radiation patients at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego. They have been Reiki masters for over 20 years and practiced qi gong since year 2000.

“I am privileged to have studied under amazing healers; in Brazil, with my father who was a physician, treating the under privileged in the poor areas in Rio, to shamans in the rain forest, to crystal healers in sacred mountains, and African herbalists in Bahia. Then in North Carolina, I became acquainted with the Cherokee people and their amazing healing knowledge. At Yo San University, in Los Angeles, I studied with some of the top practitioners and professors in the field of Chinese medicine. In China I had the good fortune to study with acupuncturists and herbalist who were gracious enough to share their knowledge with me. In Thailand I studied under Montak Chia. My primary objective is to use this knowledge to help people on their quest for health. To me a harmonious and beautiful environment is indispensable to achieving good health.”
